Special Needs
Emotional Disability
An Emotional Disability is a condition that, over a long period of time and to a marked degree, consistently
interferes with a student's learning process and adversely affects the student's educational performance.
Linkonlearning has had great success in boosting children's self esteem raising their grades and
helping them achieve goals to deal with or overcome their Emotional Difficulties. One such case is Sarah
who over the period between grades 3-5 experienced an emotional set back that began to adversely
affect her school work. Sarah began using the Link On Learning system during our testing phase and is
now in grade 8 and has developed a great sense of self esteem, self awareness and incredible sense of
humor.
Multiple Disabilities
The term Multiple Disabilities means concomitant impairments (such as mental disability-visual
impairment and mental disability-orthopedic impairment), the combination of which results in such severe
educational needs that the student's needs cannot be accommodated with special education services
solely for one (1) of the impairments. The term does not include deaf-blind.
